'Trojan war'

The Trojan war's cause goes down to the myth of marriage between Peleus and Thetis a sea goddess. At this wedding, Eris, the goddess of discord was not invited but who would want to invite the goddess of discord to their happy wedding. Of course, Eris got mad and threw a golden apple that said 'to whom the fairest' which was found by 3 goddess, Hera, Athena, and Aphrodite. They all fought each over who's is it and the judgement was left to Paris, the most beautiful man alive. In order to get that apple, Hera promised to give Athena offered Paris wisdom, skill in battle, and the abilities of the greatest warriors; Hera offered him political power and control of all of Asia; and Aphrodite offered him the love of the most beautiful woman in the world. However the most beautiful woman was Helen who already had a husband, Menelaus. After Menelaus learned that Paris took Helen to Troy and married with her he called all of her suitors to take Helen back. The warriors had hard time finding Troy and after they found Troy they started attacking the country neighboring to Troy because Troy was getting supply from them and also the Greeks could earn money and women. During the war many famous and great soldiers died including Hector on the Trojan side and Achilles from the Greek side.

Later, since it takes so long and many soldiers died, according to the book, clever odysseus thought of making Trojan horse which leads them to victory.

They made some soldiers go home like if they give up the war and the other warriors hide in the horse following Odysseus. simon was left and he acted like Greeks left them and like he was mad toward them. He explains to the Troy that the wooden horse was safe and would bring luck to the Trojans. Stupid Trojans according to the book let the horse in and celebrated like they won but in the night the Greek soldier came out and made it Greek's victory.

This is the famous Greek Trojan war. However, myths are just myth. they arenot true but I am surprised how smoothe the story and the characters are. I think it is very reiable and I can understand that it might've controlled the lives of Greek people. They have personality similar to the humans which shows that greek gods are not perfect like Jesus and I think this added more reality to the myth.

These greek myths are made in ancient Greek people's point of view and I believe even though we don't believe in those gods anymore, if we make it, it was be very different from the myths of ancient Greeks because the life changed and things that we believe its more important is different.
